There may also be the opportunity for capturing some wonderful wildlife imagery of animals, birds and sea-life in its natural habitat.
Apart from the photography, the tour will have a relaxed holiday feel whilst staying in nice accommodation in Portree.
The Isle of Skye (an t-Eilean Sgiathanach in Gaelic) takes its name from the old Norse sky-a, meaning ‘cloud island’, a Viking reference to the often-mist-enshrouded Cuillin Hills. It’s the second-largest of Scotland’s islands, a 50-mile-long patchwork of velvet moors, jagged mountains, sparkling lochs and towering sea cliffs.
Skye is a truly magical place. The largest of the Inner Hebrides, it’s home to some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes. When you are visiting for a few days whilst on a photography tour, the island has countless ways to enchant you with its mountain ranges and miles of dramatic coastline. Bring your sense of adventure!
If there’s one thing about Skye that’ll leave a lasting impression on you, it’s got to be the scenery. The stunning scenery is the main attraction, but when the mist closes in there are always still plenty of photo opportunities.
We will photograph many of Skye’s most majestic geological features, such as the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing and the Cuillin.
But be sure to take your sturdiest of boots. Many of the sites on this tour will be explored on foot for the real rewards. Come prepared for changeable weather: when it’s fine it’s very fine indeed, but all too often it isn’t.
